The Oval cut we know today can be attributed to Lazare Kaplan in 1957, a diamond cutter who originally worked with diamonds deemed “useless”, he quickly procured a spot in the Jewelers International Hall of Fame for his brilliant invention of the Oval cut.

Considered a more modern, elegant alternative to the brilliant Round cut, this elongated shape is universally flattering.
