The Pear Studs
The Pear cut can be traced by to the early 1400s, attributed to Lodewyk van Berquem of Belgium. This unique shape was originally unpopular amongst diamond cutters because the process caused a great deal of the rough diamond to be lost when cutting. However, this made the shape very covetable. This exquisite shape can sometimes be referred to as a teardrop cut, with it’s rounded bottom and narrow, pointed top.
The Pear cut encompasses edge and class as it is one of the most highly regarded and oldest cuts. Strong and timeless, this elongated shape is universally flattering and powerful.
